My name is Andrea D. Hogan.  I am the proud principal of Washington Elementary.  I am an example of what can come out of attending School City of East Chicago (SCEC) Public Schools.  I am born and raised in East Chicago.  I attended SCEC schools from elementary to high school; being a part of the first graduating class of Central High School in 1987.  I received my Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Indiana University NW, Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Calumet College of St. Joseph, and a Master’s of Education/Educational Leadership from Indiana University NW.  After graduating and throughout my journey with SCEC, my career path went from Paraprofessional, Teacher, Assistant Principal, to Principal.  I have been a servant leader attempting to enhance the education of our students and staff for approximately 24+ years.  I am just as excited now as I was when I started to serve as a committed stakeholder who truly cares about our students, staff, and community.
